Last week we looked at a book of art composed by Alan lee, one of the illustrators for Lord of the Rings. The book showed preliminary sketches and different stages of his work; most of these were concept designs for characters, landscapes and architecture. Other than that we scanned other books about modern art and pop art, including one about box art. Box art was interesting, basically a style revolving around assemblage of found objects; specifically Candy Jerdigans art, revolving around objects she found on the streets of New York.
Our assignment for this week was to write a paragraph about how other artist work, particularly the one's we looked over, influence us. We can also make a sketch or drawing to represent this.
